Ms. Laura Talamante's experience has focused on Immigration Law.
Experience
Prior to joining the Law Office of Felipe D.J. Millan in October of 2007, Ms. Talamantes worked as a Staff Attorney at Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services (DMRS). At DMRS Ms. Talamantes represented victims of domestic violence, human trafficking and crimes before the Executive Office of Immigration Review and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Additionally, Ms. Talamantes made presentations to the community about Immigration and the legal rights of immigrants.
Education
Ms. Talamantes completed her undergraduate studies at San Diego State University with a B.A in Sociology, and an emphasis in Social Problems. She went onto pursue law in Colorado where she graduated from the University of Denver, College of Law. While Ms. Talamantes was attending law school she was an intern with public defender offices in both San Diego, California and Denver, Colorado.
Awards
In 2007 Ms. Talamantes was a recipient of the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, Daniel Levy Award, which was presented to advocates/attorneys who assisted immigrant workers who were detained from an ICE raid in New Bedord, Massachusetts.

Ms. Talamantes is admitted to the New Mexico State Bar and to the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th and 10th circuits.
